Making the atypical typical
My name is Dr. Kiersten Sippio and I am the owner of Neurodivergent Minds. I am a licensed clinical neuropsychologist with a specialty emphasis in autism. I believe that a neuropsychological evaluation should allow children and their families to walk away understanding how their brains work and how to better cope in a world that is not very kind to neurodivergent populations or people who walk an unconventional path. For parents, the goal of the evaluation process is to understand how to parent more effectively to limit strife in the home and increase access to necessary services. Additionally, for adolescents and young adults, the goal of an evaluation is to explain the etiology of the symptoms they are experiencing and to provide recommendations on how they can reduce their experiences of anxiety, depression, and poor self-esteem. Neuropsychological and psychological evaluations, when done correctly, allow for an explanation of symptoms, provide detailed and specific recommendations, and allow for the client and their family to better understand their experiences. At Neurodivergent Minds my goal is to provide service that allows the client and their family to feel heard and understood with a path forward and hopefully a brighter future.
